Raging Surge

‘Women deserve just as much respect on the field as men do. I’ll keep playing as long as my body holds up’

Brooklyn Jackson

Brook’s full-time job is as a Ladies Gridiron League place for The Bondi Rage and is in training squad for the NSW Surge team. Brook’s day job was working with people with disabilities. Until recently, she was a Rehabilitation Consultant helping people fit back into and engage once more in the community after acquiring their disability. She says that this job is not really work at all and that she loves being able to help people get their lives back on track to their best abilities. She is an amazingly humble and compassionate woman, in a way, a bit like a superman in a female version, but better. Brook lives with her mum, sister and nephew and they are all strong supports for each other.

Does a woman have to be masculine to be acceptable as a sportswoman? Is being feminine and a sportswoman a contradiction of terms?
