Since I was 16 I have been Camel Racing, so I’ve been doing it for about 18 years.
I love camels, the adrenalin, it’s just a crazy sport. No matter where I go people are astonished that I do it. Because it’s so different.
I have never ridden a horse on a race track, but I have owned horse for my entire life, and even a donkey or two.
Camels are a lot more uncoordinated, you sit on the saddle right at the back of the camel. When you first sit on it, it feels like you’ll fall off, as your on the back of the hump, and camels take a lot longer strides.
It’s just so different and I get to travel all around the Australia and I get to take my kids with me, it’s just awesome. – Rachael
