Sweet 16
‘I can do anything, just differently, It has affected by life in a positive way I think, kind of made me who I am today. It means I am diverse. I feel having a disability is a lucky thing for me. ‘
Brittany Mumula
Brittany represented Australia in the Dwarf Games in Ireland, when she was just 16. She is part of the basketball team, which has only one other female player. The court is the same size that the Sydney Kings play on, and the hoop is the same height that the NBL use. Brittany sees her disability as something that has added to her life and the lives of those around her. Brittany also competes in swimming and athletics and is preparing for the 2013 Dwarf Games in USA.
The basketball ring and the court she plays on is the same as that used by average height people. Twice the achievement is required to be equal. Where is the achievement recognised outside the parameters of disability?
